New Work
The last few months have been very busy in the studio and finally some new work is coming to fruition.
Our latest project was quick turn around microsite for Get Digital Radio UK’s (the promotional and lobbing body for Digital Radio) Work Happy campaign which was launched on 30/08/2011. All about the joy of listening to radio at work.
While it is only a single page, we a fair bit going on: HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, responsive layout and a neat little twitter feed (http://tweet.seaofclouds.com).
So feel free to go have a look and join in on twitter, www.getdigitalradio.com/workhappy.

We are starting a new year with a re-design and a reshape of what KING HARMSWORTH do. So that we can concentrate purely on our Design and Imaging services.
The redesign started a bit last year with a new logo which has slowly been rolled out over the design and imaging sites.
The website is also being redesigned (its long over due) and it about time to really start pushing the boat out with some new coding. Last year saw a lot of chatter about the state of HTML5 and CSS3 and whether we should start using them. The theory of responsive design was also push the fore, with the iphone and ipad really hitting their stride. Most importantly though last year saw the acceptance of withdrawing native support for IE6. For me this has meant that we can really start moving forward technically on the web.
In that spirit we have started our redesign with a new homepage, that includes our new logo, some responsive design and the use of 3 new technologies HTML5, CSS3 and SVG.
On our new logo we have decided for the moment to leave a ghost impression of its technical layout as well as use an SVG version of it so that it scales beautifully on all browser/device resolutions.
Support across all platforms and browsers for some of the technology is pretty shaky, so there a couple of javascript fixes applied, particularly the excellent HTML5shiv and svgweb. Without these the site simple won’t work, because of the HTML5, CSS3 and SVG. So while I am happy it works, it is of concern to me as a industry that we are so reliant on Javascript once again. One of the conclusions I have drawn from starting the redesign is that each client project will have to be looked at very carefully, when deciding where and when you can implement these technologies. Particularly disappointing has been SVG. Which has been a real headache (as browser support is all over the place) to implement. Oddly doing the same thing quickly in Flash with decent fallback support would have been much easier and quicker…
The lovely Joanna, has got her first exhibition coming up in Wivenhoe at the Jardine cafe & Bistro, from the 27th Sept till the end of Oct. Exciting times, Oooo.
We are in a state of flux at the moment, we are in the process re-building, so excuse the mess …
Need a good lawyer? Want some conveyancing done on the quick, well we recommend the good folks at Attwells Solicitors in Ipswich and London.
