I really enjoy illustration and print work when I get the chance to do some. This illustration was part of a print ad for the Catch the Radio Wave campaign that the RAB did and appeared as a full page ad in MediaWeek magazine.
The idea I had for the piece was based on an old style Punch and Judy theatre. The waves were to look like they were cut outs layered over each other and the radio surfing the waves was on the end of a stick. One day if I get the time it would be great to animate it.
Part of the challenge in the brief was to tie in the RAB logo and RAB red colour into the design. To do this I used the red squares of the logo and made them look as though they were suspended from strings as part of the stage set.
